Protecting Environmental Values On Your Land

You have most likely heard of Land For Wildlife but did you know there are at least 25 such properties on Bruny totalling an impressive 1,310 hectares. This is just one of the ways landowners are encouraged to protect biodiversity and habitat for our unique and wonderful native animals and birdlife.  There are also 18 Conservation covenants covering 1180ha's and 1 Garden for Wildlife member.  These government partnership programs provide information, advice and in some cases financial benefits such as rate rebates.

Click here to get details of the various programs, contacts and application forms.

Even if you are not involved in such a program there is a wealth of information available to assist landowners manage in an environmentally sustainable manner. This link will take you to a biodiversity toolkit  jointly produced by the Private Land Conservation Program and Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers.
